Calendar of Events

Imagination Station has an ever changing calendar of events that makes every visit to the science center different from the last. With events for kids of all ages, you're sure to find fun for the entire family. Below is a listing of current and upcoming events.


    New Simulator Theater Adventure – Over The Edge!

    Now Open
    Experience an exhilarating journey as you dodge snow-covered trees on the mountainside, balance on the edge of a cliff, outrun an avalanche of boulders and careen down an abandoned mine shaft.


    Closed for Fall Cleaning

    September 22 – 29
    We will be closed for annual cleaning and maintenance. Please visit us again when our normal operating hours resume on Tuesday, September 30.


    Little Scientist Workshops

    October – December
    These programs encourage families with young children, ages 3 – 5, to investigate the world around them. RSVP today!


    Spooky Science

    October 1 – 31
    We’re putting the scare into scary for a hair raising, bone chilling, spine tingling science event.


    Homeschool Workshops

    October – April, 2015
    This monthly program covers a variety of topics – from chemistry to astronomy and all the fun, messy science in-between!


    Gizmo’s Birthday

    October 10
    Gizmo is turning 5! Celebrate with Gizmo today. Sign his Birthday Card and enjoy his favorite treat, liquid nitrogen ice cream.


    The Bash5

    October 11, 7pm
    Imagination Station is turning five! It’s our birthday, so we’re throwing the biggest, craziest, most EXTREME science party you’ve ever seen – The Bash5. We can’t do it without your support!

    National Chemistry Week

    November 4 – 8
    Experience things you can’t replicate in the classroom as we celebrate the wonders of chemistry at Imagination Station.


    The Blade Holiday Parade

    November 15
    Join Imagination Station for fun, science festivities after The Blade Holiday Parade. Explore the science museum, meet special guests and get your photo taken with Santa Claus.


    Frostology: The Science of the Season

    December 2 – January 4
    The weather outside is frightful, but our science is so delightful. Frostology will explore the slippery science of snow, make engineers out of elves and create masterpieces from paper with our holiday-themed activities and demonstrations.


    Cookies & Cocoa with Claus

    December 4, 6 – 8pm
    Reserve your spot for this members-only pajama dance party with the big guy, Santa Claus. This festive night blends holiday cookies and cocoa with cool science.

    Snowflake Workshops

    December 27 & 28, Noon – 4pm
    Learn the art of Scherenschnitte (paper cutting) with snowflake expert, Mary Gaynier. Make beautiful creations to decorate your home all winter.

    LEGO® Workshops

    December 28 & 29
    Build It! visits Imagination Station. Build a giant snowflake out of K’NEX, race LEGO sleds and even send reindeer soaring across the room! Included in the cost of admission. Join us for one of our open workshops or reserve your spot in one of our Members-only workshops.

    Get up-close and personal with a life-size, baby T. rex! Be prepared to step back in time and meet this giant, anatomically-perfect, realistic puppet which stands over 8′ tall and 12′ long! Included in the cost of admission. Timed ticketing required.

    Rock out and discover the science and history behind the instrument that revolutionized music: the guitar. Explore all facets of the world’s most popular instrument – from its evolution into an instrument of popular culture to the science of creating sound with wood and steel.

    Reduce, reuse, recycle. Find new uses for old items, and earn your ‘green’ thumb by digging in our unconventional garden.


    Mother’s Day Activities

    Join us in Science Studio and make duct tape gifts for your mom for her special day. Celebrate Mother’s Day on May 10 at Imagination Station and moms get in FREE*!


    Innovation Week

    Allow your creativity to flourish at Imagination Station as you innovate and explore the creative, fun side of science.


    Father’s Day Activities

    June 16 – 21
    Join us in Science Studio, and use your mechanical engineering skills to harness the elastic power of a rubber band and make a wind-up car for Dad. Celebrate Father’s Day on June 21 at Imagination Station, and dads get in FREE*!

  • Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition

    Now – September 21
    This Exhibition takes you on a journey back in time to experience the legend of Titanic like never before. The galleries in this fascinating Exhibition feature real artifacts recovered from the ocean floor along with room re-creations and personal stories. *Timed ticket required.
