Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions

Registering for Camp: 

How can I register for Summer Camp? 
You can register online or call our Reservations Department at 419-244-2674 ext. 250 for assistance.

Can I register my camper for a camp that is not in their age range?
The level of content and types of activities that will be completed in each camp are designed specifically with the listed age range in mind. Therefore, we request that you only register your camper for a camp that is in their age range.

Is there a discount for multiple children and/or camps?
We currently do not offer a discount for multiple children or multiple camp enrollments; however, we do offer discounts for Imagination Station Members. Imagination Station Members receive a $25 discount per camp week. For more information about becoming a member, click here.

Why do I need to fill out the Summer Camp Form?
Imagination Station requires all parents and guardians to fill out the Summer Camp Form online to ensure the safety of all of our campers. There are sections to complete regarding health conditions, medications and authorized adults to pick up your camper. 

What if my kid needs medication during camp?
Parents and guardians must complete the Summer Camp Form online which includes a section regarding any health conditions and medications that our camp team needs to be aware of. 

All medications must be provided in containers with the camper's name, medication name and dosage amount. All medications will be kept by camp staff and provided to campers at the times specified on their Summer Camp Form. Emergency medications, such as Epi-pens and inhalers, will be kept in close proximity to the camper at all times.

What to know about Camp: 

What are camp hours? 
Camp is from 9:00am-4:00pm. Drop off is from 8:30am-9:00am and pick-up is from 4:00pm-5:00pm. 

Do you have camp on the 4th of July?
Yes, we run our normal camp schedule on the 4th of July. 

What are the drop-off and pick-up procedures?
Drop-off is from 8:30-9:00am. You can use the turn-around at the front entrance of Imagination Station off Summit Street for a quick drop-off. All campers need to be walked into the science center to the Visitor Services front desk, where their adult will sign them in. We will have our campers place their lunch in the designated bin and then we will have a camp counselor walk them to their room. 

Camp pick-up is from 4:00-5:00pm. You can use the turn-around at the front entrance of Imagination Station for a quick pick-up. Whoever is picking up your camper will need to be listed on the camper's Summer Camp Form as an approved adult and show photo identification. Once the adult's identity has been verified, your camper will be walked from their camp room to the front of Imagination Station. 

Can I drop my camper off late and/or pick them up early?
We request that your camper arrives and is dismissed during the scheduled times. However, we understand that situations pop up and you may need to drop off your camper later or pick them up early. Please contact Maddy Coss, Program Development Manager, at summercamp@istscience.org or 419-214-9116 to let the camp team know about the adjusted schedule. 

Why do we have to show photo identification for pick-up?
Imagination Station is dedicated to the safety and security of all of our campers. In order to release a camper, the adult's photo identification must match a name on the camper's approved pick-up list.

What happens if my camper misses a day of their scheduled camp week?
Missed days of camp are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

When will my camper receive their camp t-shirt?
Campers will receive their t-shirt on Thursday. We ask that all campers wear their camp t-shirt on Friday for photos and our camp celebration!

What is special about Fridays during camp? 
On Fridays, the camper's immediate family is able to pick up their camper beginning at 3:00pm and explore Imagination Station together at no cost. Campers are welcome to continue to participate in camp activities through the normal pick up time of 5:00pm. 

Note: Families exploring Imagination Station from 3:00-5:00pm may not park in the Imagination Station turn-around. We recommend parking in the Vistula Parking Garage.
